Greetings in the name of our Lord,
We, at St. Augustine's, are very proud of our church and the worship, outreach, spiritual formation and fellowship opportunities that God has blessed us with. We are blessed with an ideal location, adjacent to the Memorial University, in the midst of an established neighborhood, and very close to both the major hospital of the province as well as the House of Assembly. Our ministry and worship reflects the needs of the neighborhood as well as the needs of the milieux that we are situated in.
Our Church is a very modern building (built in 1968) and reflects the vision it's founders had for the ministry of our church. Our congregation numbers around 1000 people, from infants to members in their nineties and is active in many aspects of congregational and diocesan life.
We have numerous ministry opportunities for lay and clergy involvement here at St. Augustine's, including membership in the ladies group (the ACW - which meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month), and the men's group (the Men's Service Club - which meets on the 2nd Tuesday of every month), the CLB (one of our youth organizations - which meets every Wednesday night), the Sunday School (both as teachers, helpers and students), choir members, servers, readers, prayers (prayers for the people), greeters, sides people, and numerous and exciting program committee (outreach) positions (as listed under 'Programs' in this web site).
We would be delighted to have you come and join us for worship, to sense God's presence in our worship, to partake in our fellowship and join us in our ministry in this part of God's Vineyard.
As a fitting post script to this welcoming message, I, on behalf of the parish, would like to sincerely thank Bob Earle, the outgoing webmaster, for his work on this website. Bob fills many roles in St. Augustine's and we are happy, pleased and grateful that he lent his time and talent to the design and maintainance of this site.
