January 2006 Events

Annual Meeting and Pot Luck supper - January 31st, 6:30 pm. This is where we discuss the events and programs of the past year, set direction for the year to come and elect a new executive.

Who we are and what we do.

We meet monthly on the fourth Tuesday of each month, our business meeting is followed by a Theme Tea of some sort (e.g. Hat Tea, Snowman Tea, Quiet Tea, and Spring Tea). Also each year an evening is designated for fellowship with a Ladies Group from another faith. This includes devotions, guest speakers, and FOOD of course.

We work along with our Men's Group for our Fall Fair in October as well as our Ham and Bean Supper prior to Lent. We also cater to the men's Communion Breakfast and look after Coffee Hour following the 11 o'clock service four times per year.

In May we have our own Communion Breakfast as well as our Closing Dinner. Both events are well attended.

We are very active in the life of the church. As one of our projects, we actively support/sponsor our Children's Church (Sunday School). In /December, along with the Men's Service Club, we sponsor a Christmas supper and party for the seniors of our church. This is very well attended with about 100 seniors being present every year.

Every Lent, we do a series of suppers every Wednesday night prior to the Lenten Service. Proceeds from our Lenten Project also go towards a variety of projects including Ministry for the Deaf, support for missionaries in Honduras and Tanzania.

We also sew turbans for the Cancer Society and we treat our seniors to a Christmas Party.

We have a very active Craft Group, meeting on Thursday mornings for Crafts and Lunch. Their projects have included making candles, flower arrangements, Christmas crafts and cards, and many sorts of crafts..

Our A.C.W. works well because of the enthusiasm of our members and the constant support they give their Executive.
